Color me surprised

Apparently, an American Foundation helped plotting my hero's abduction. I am shocked, I'm telling you. Shocked, shocked, shocked. I mean, who coulda thought?  The local Human Rights Foundation (HFR) president, Hugo Acha Melgar, might have been the aborted coup's financier - kinda like Ben Laden for 9/11, ya know.

Of course, nothing is set in stone - yet. The investigation is still going on in Bolivia and no decision has yet been taken about what to do with these fellas from the HFR. But still, a Human Rights foundation financing criminals to kill someone! What is this world coming to? An organization whose mission statement presents as bent on on “defending human rights and promoting liberal democracy in the Americas” orchestrating a coup against a democratically elected president is akin to the leader of the free world , the land of the free, imposing its will on the rest of the world and the home of the brave, getting its panty in a twist over some vague terror plot against freedom. This is so unbelievable, not!

And do not get me started on the normality of such things. The CIA in Latin America is way more informative than me on this subject anyway.
